Great Knife Not Great Sheath February 2, 2009

I ordered this knife several weeks back and the first day I recieved it I pushed the blade through the sheath. The sheath was not designed well. SOG offered to replace it though. The knife on the other hand balances well in the hand and does not feel heavy or unwieldy compared to the SOG bowies. The blade is thick enough to do flesh related work. It is second in line on my field gear after my Cold Steel G.I. Tanto. I paid $124 shipped and I think it was well worth it.

I like to collect knives. This is pretty much a must have if you like military stuff. I like the Agency very much, beautiful knife. My only complaint is mine came thru with a few small scatches near the Taiwan mark on the blade. The leather handle have a few small flaws and there was buffing compound still on metal parts. This should not happen with a knife in this price range. I have a Sog Trident and you could search all day and find nothing wrong with that knife. Not so with this one. I also have a number a KaBars, no flaws like the Sog, they are roughly half the price and made in the U S A. My complaints are not enough to send the knife back, but it does take the edge off, no pun intended,the fun of getting a new addition to my collection. Another review mentioned the sheath. mine has a thick piece of leather between the top and bottom layers of leather, no problems with the blade touching thr stitching.
